Madagascar Medical Mission Team

Travel Day 1

Eight of us met at the Boston airport around 4 PM on Saturday. After spending a good amount of time in line and figuring out luggage (as we had so much) we got the bags checked, and we headed to the terminal! Luckily, we had enough time to grab a bite to eat before the plane took off.

Then on to the plane for our seven hour overnight flight to Paris. Luckily it was a good flight, but not all of us slept…

When we arrived in Paris, we were able to meet up with the rest of our team, five others, for a total of 13! Then came the long flight 11 hours to Madagascar. We did our best to keep ourselves entertained with some sleeping, some playing games, some reading, and anything else to keep us occupied for those 11 hours…

After all of that, we went through customs in Madagascar, got our visas, got all of our luggage (more than 20 bags) and loaded up in the van.

We finally made it to the Lutheran guest house sometime after midnight. We went to bed and were up the next morning by 7 AM to have breakfast and hit the road.
